| Abstract |
The article raises the theme of university library functions transformation under the influence of modern technologies and social needs. It indicates the necessary conditions for full-fledged implementation of the services spectrum required to the modern user. The tendency of university library buildings transformation into the multifunctional architectural complex is revealed and the author’s scientific research results connected with the implement of the modern university library building functional zoning are presented in the text. The dynamics of changes in functional zones areas proportions is analyzed. The concept of library building volume-planning structure forming based on the multilevel system of public spaces and the interaction of the major functional areas are described.
