Article PROBLEMS OF MARKET PLACES IN A MODERN CITY

Abstract The article deals with current issues and trends of reconstruction in the development of commercial enterprises in modern cities. The imbalance of design standards of covered markets with modern needs of customers are detected. The main factors and regional characteristics, which influence on the reconstruction of commercial buildings were analyzed. Principles that are, in the author’s opinion, important for the development of trade enterprises in the city, including relating to rethink the set of functional groups and socio-cultural content of the objects involved in trade, as well as methods for the formation of modern trade parks in the territory of covered markets, are formulated. The international experience in design and current trends in architecture of multi-functional shopping centers was reviewed.
